Initially, incorporated in Porgera on the 8th December, 1995 as Akita Pty Limited by two local Porgerans. Andrew Morghun, a BCL trained Instrument Technician in Porgera, Enga Province to supply skilled workforce to Placer Dome during the construction phase of Porgera Gold Mine. The company ceased operations in 2001. Andrew resigned as Director and founded Morghun Quality Engineering Solution (MQES), established in January 2001 and is specialized in Testing and calibration and repair of test and measurement instrumentation, within Papua New Guinea and Pacific Island countries.
